Wagers

Scout the field, then back a tank: kills in one life, kills today, kills this week, or top gun of the day. Command issues every driver 100 Flux a week and pays every bounty you collect in Flux. Flux is the currency of PHALANX, and it is not money.

Every driver's wagers and this week's standings

    Standing orders

    1. Flux is the currency of PHALANX, and it is not money. Command issues it at the weekly pay call and pays it for every bounty you collect in the field, and for now it backs wagers here and nothing else. It cannot be bought, cashed in or handed to another driver, it is worth nothing outside PHALANX, and no real money is ever staked or paid out. Flux never counts toward your service record, the tournament or its prize. Command will find more uses for Flux in time.
    2. Bounties pay Flux. Every tank leaves its base with a bounty of 100. Destroy it and Command pays you its whole bounty in Flux; an assist earns a quarter of it, and bringing a flag home pays the bounties of every tank the capture destroys.
    3. Back another tank, never your own. There is no way to bet against a tank.
    4. Four wagers. One life: the tank makes the kills before it dies. Today: it finishes the day on at least that many kills. This week: the same by the next pay call. Top gun: no tank finishes the day on more kills, and a tie pays. The day runs midnight to midnight, Mountain time.
    5. You are paid the moment the last kill is confirmed, the stake included. A one life wager is lost when the tank dies first; today and this week are lost when the day or the week ends short; top gun is settled at midnight. A tank waiting to respawn is backed for its next life.
    6. Your own death never counts toward a wager you placed, and a kill on a teammate never counts at all.
    7. The tank leaves the field before it dies: a one life stake is returned, and so is every open one life wager if the game restarts. Wagers on today, the week and top gun stay open whoever comes and goes.
    8. The odds are Command’s, from each tank’s own record: kills a life for one life, and for the rest its kills an hour and time in the field over the last 14 days, the same count today, this week and top gun are settled on. A scouting report is Hot after three kills or more over its last three lives and Cold after none.
    9. Pay call is Monday, 0000 Mountain time. The 100 Flux is issued the first time you report in that week. A week you miss is not paid.
    10. Ten wagers open at most, one of each kind on any one tank.
